Following the great success of the « Trounwiessel » (change of throne) held on 4 October in Wiltz – where a 150-metre table transformed the Grand-Rue into a true living symbol of cohesion and diversity – the Weeltzer Dësch initiative continued its journey, this time for a good cause.
On 12 and 13 December, the Weeltzer Dësch returned, first in Wiltz and then at Place Clairefontaine in Luxembourg City, for a day dedicated to art, culture and conviviality. On this occasion, the non-profit organisation COOPERATIONS, in collaboration with the municipality of Wiltz, the Parc naturel de la Haute-Sûre, Brasserie Simon and Den Atelier, offered unique items from the Wiltz event for sale in support of the Stëmm vun der Strooss.
Among the objects available were hand-painted plates created by children and seniors, pieces of fabric from the 150-metre table produced by the drapery of the Parc naturel de la Haute-Sûre, as well as designer glasses from Brasserie Simon decorated with the CooperationsArt Wiltz crown.
Each object carried its own story, allowing visitors to take home a fragment of this unifying event. The day was enlivened by music and moments of sharing around merguez and drinks, reflecting the festive and inclusive spirit that defines the Weeltzer Dësch: bringing people together, sharing a meal and celebrating diversity.
Thanks to the generosity of participants and buyers, a total of €7,000 was raised in support of the Stëmm vun der Strooss. This initiative holds particular significance as the Stëmm itself had taken part in the Trounwiessel festivities in Luxembourg City.
The official handover of the donation took place on 4 March in Hollerich, in the presence of Alexandra Oxacelay, director of the Stëmm vun der Strooss, and Marc Scheer representing COOPERATIONS. This contribution will support initiatives aimed at helping the most vulnerable people in Luxembourg.
With this initiative, COOPERATIONS once again demonstrates that culture, solidarity and conviviality can come together to create a concrete and lasting impact.
