The association Stëmm vun der Strooss had the honor of receiving a donation of €20,000 as part of the “Gift of the Holy Father”, an initiative stemming from Pope Francis’ visit to Luxembourg in September 2024.
Originally intended for the Office of the Papal Almoner (Dicastery for the Service of Charity of the Vatican), the collected amount was redirected, at the request of the Holy Father, to support social initiatives in the Grand Duchy, benefiting the most vulnerable and refugees. This gesture of solidarity made it possible to support several organizations engaged in social and humanitarian work, including Stëmm vun der Strooss.
The official presentation of the donation took place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the association’s headquarters during a site visit. Present were the Director of Stëmm, Alexandra Oxacelay, as well as members of the Fondation Sainte-Irmine team: Mr. Roger Nilles, Ms. Marie-Ange de Savignac, and Ms. Ivana Katusic.
This financial support, granted under the initiative of Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, President of the Fondation Sainte-Irmine, strengthens the association’s efforts to support people living in precarious conditions.
“This donation represents much more than financial support: it is a strong sign of solidarity toward the people we support on a daily basis. It enables us to continue and further develop our actions for the most vulnerable,” emphasizes Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss.
